Every two years, on the weekend of August 15th, something happens to the Grand-Place that is difficult to describe to someone who has not seen it. The cobblestones disappear. In their place, 1,680 square metres of cut flowers, arranged by hand, by more than a hundred volunteers, in under six hours, become a single image that covers the entire square.

Brussels has quietly established itself as one of Europe’s most interesting cities when it comes to coffee. Not in a flashy way, chasing the latest trends, but rather in keeping with what generally happens here.

Brussels does not slow down in summer. If anything, the city only gets busier, open-air theatre, free concerts, a national celebration, a flower carpet on the Grand-Place, and a handful of surprises that make Brussels one of Europe's most underrated summer destinations.
